This is a extract off the bmsa web site conserning the 150 4 stroke and the water cooled auto for the 2007 session
We understand that 150cc 4 strokes have been excepted by the ACU for 2007 , in both small wheel and big wheel classes . Although we would have liked them restricted to the big wheel class only , we have to follow suit . However both the BSMA and ACU are working together on this one and riders will be tested to ensure they can both reach the floor and be able to pick up the bike off the ground unaided. If you can not then you will not ride it. ......
WATER COOLED AUTO'S
at a recent management meeting it was decided that we would allow water cooled auto's back in but these bikes will remain standard stock bikes .We do not intend to let it get out of hand again. If you turn up with a none standard bike then sorry we dont want you. NONE of the above will take place untill 2007 ,but all has yet to be agreed to by the delegates on the 21st September
150 UPDATE :
The Clubs took a vote on the 150 - 4 strokes for next year . Although most were unhappy with the idea they agreed to let them in ,
but all must be fitted with a 94db pipe .
NO riders under 10 years old will be allowed to ride them in the small wheel class .
The small wheel class will be on trail for 6 months .
If we find that we feel riders are unable to cope then they will be restricted to the big wheel class only.
We all know that 4 strokes are hard to restart but this will not be excepted as an excuse for parents to be running onto the track.
Water cooled Auto's ( 50cc )will also be allowed back in. anyone found with over sized barrels will be baned. we will allow bolt on parts only . In 2008 the age group for Auto class will be changed to riders aged 6 to 7 yrs
