Bicton 2011
BURROWING DEEP ......Warley Wasps Schoolboy Scramble hosted yet another fantastic meeting at the new incredible track Bicton in Shrewsbury situated right on the River Severn. To say we were lucky with the weather was the understatement of the year, considering what they had forecast.
With its long fast straight leading to the first corner the part dirt, part clay will become a huge favourite amongst riders and fans alike, I am sure this track will never fail to provide epic racing over the course of the weekends planned for the future. The track gets rougher and rougher as the day wears on so fitness plays a big part in doing well here.
With the race order changed around from the previous meeting Auto's went out first with a great line up of these little warriors, it was brilliant to see new and old faces on the start line. The top four were out the gate and battling every single minute with some truly splendid racing from: Tristian Jones, Liam Ware, Robbie Scott & Archie Collier.
65's were up next with some amazing racing from the top four who were flat out at every single opportunity around the new track, making the most of the very fast straights; Jack Wankling impressed all spectators with his riding style, closely followed by Ryan Rowlands, Ryan Manley and new comer to the club Declan Roden.
85 BW & 85 SW were next with some fast racing yet again from Nathan Batch, Joe Cadwallader, Rhys Roberts and Callum Evans in the SW. BW saw the top four Jordan Saunders, Jake Ford, Ryan Turbill and Joe Seedhouse pinning it all the way.
Seniors we saw some truly amazing style coming from, Karl Haycock, Jack Morton, Sam Barrington and Michael Simmons.
And last but no means least the AMX & Vets, with Tim Burrows storming the field in all four races. Craig Chamberlain having many hole shots throughout the day and leading the pack until Burrows and Jagielski took over to dominate the rest of the race.
With four blocks of racing, the weather holding out, a professional photographer Gavin Hinds from 4thgearpinned.com and new faces turning up to see what Warley Wasps are all about this West Midlands club will without doubt become the number one Midlands Club to race with and to top it all off we have announced this week that Warley Wasps will be hosting a CAL4U race meeting at Drayton Manor on October 16th.
